North America

North America is one of the world’s seven continents and comprises of many countries, including those on the mainland, the island nations of the Caribbean and other islands around the continent. It is a continent of a rich and varied history and today is a melting pot of different cultures.
The major countries of North America are the USA, Mexico and Canada. Central American countries make up the far south of the continent and include Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama. Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and the other islands in the Caribbean are also part of the large continent.
Every country in North America has a different identity, and wherever you go you will find something different and exciting. Central America has much Spanish influence, and the cuisine is world famous, especially that of Mexico. The USA is famous for its modern culture, including the movie industry.
Visiting the Caribbean Islands is a different experience altogether from Central America and the USA. The culture here is famously laid-back, and the beaches are among the best in the world. Jamaica is known for its reggae and ska music, Cuba is famous for its cigars, and the Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago are well known for their beach resorts.
Some of the world’s most famous natural features are in North America, including the USA’s Grand Canyon, and the Rocky Mountains which are shared with Canada. There are also some iconic man made features, such as the Statue of Liberty in the US state of New York and the Panama Canal.
